Centro Dibá was my volunteer site the last term I was here. Since the school I am going to be working at this term is closed for winter break, I went back to Centro Dibá to volunteer. I really enjoy working at Centro Dibá. Especially since now we get to go with the school to a nature park nearby called Parque del Este.
At the nature park we take long walks around the trails. The best part of the long walks, is the chance I get to converse solely in Spanish with the students. The most precious moment I had was when I returned to the school, one of the students Felipe remembered who I was, even though I had not seen him for a whole month. He remembered my name and everything! QUE CHIVA
Since my Spanish has improved, I have been able to converse with the students more and learn more about their families, where they have traveled and their likes and dislikes. Carlos, the director of Centro Dibá is great. He gives us volunteers many responsibilities while working. He creates a fun and relax environment. I'm so glad that I have been able to work at Centro Dibá and I am going to miss it immensely once I start my new volunteer work.
